Fisherman missing
Hope, BC- On July 28, 2012 at approximately 3:35 PM, the Hope RCMP were advised of a fisherman who had fallen into the Fraser River. A witness told police that the fisherman had slipped off a rock in the area south of the Saddle Rock Tunnel approximately 3 kilometers north of Yale and gone under the water. The fisherman was not wearing a flotation device.

Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award Recipients
UFVRD, BC: In 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II marks the 60th anniversary of her accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. To celebrate Her Majesty's 60 years of service to Canadians, the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal was created as a visible and tangible way to recognize outstanding Canadians from all walks of life. The Upper Fraser Valley Regional RCMP are pleased to announce the following members and staff of our detachment and support sections have been selected as recipients of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of their meritorious service and contributions to the community. A total of only 735 medals will be presented across British Columbia. The presentations of the medals will take place in the Fall of 2012.

RCMP looking for assistance to locate missing 16 year old girl
Hope, BC: Jessica Janis Webber, a 16 year old girl from Hope, was last seen on July 8, 2012, at 5:00 AM at her residence. Jessica is described as 5'4", 96 pounds, with brown shoulder length hair and brown eyes. It is believed she has travelled to Alberta by hitching rides with long haul truck drivers. Police have confirmed that Jessica attended a friends residence in Wetaskiwin, Alberta on July 9th. She has family and friends in Hay River and Lethbridge, however there is no indication at this time that she has been to either city. On July 17th, police confirmed that Jessica contacted a friend in Campbell River, BC, and advised the friend that she was in Alberta. Jessica's family is very worried about her as they have not heard from her since she went missing.
